“What is Pilates?”

WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a conditioning routine that helps build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominal s, arms, hips and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. There are various forms of Pilates such as Mat work (which uses gravity and your own body weight as resistance) it is performed on the floor with nothing more than a yoga mat, sometimes small props are used such as a theraband, ball or magic circle. There are traditional pieces of studio equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel and Chair.
OUR STUDIO: Depending on the individual, Peak Pilates Reformers, Ladder Barrel, Chair and Ball are utilized in each session as well as small props and therabands. We prefer using these apparatuses as the majority of our clients have issues getting up and down from the floor which previously limited their choices of exercise programs.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN PILATES?
Pilates is for everyone, any age and any level of fitness.
OUR STUDIO: We have an equal number of male clients as we do female, the youngest client is in her teens, and the oldest is 91! It is for this reason we do not offer group classes where everyone performs the same identical exercises. We understand everyone has different needs and each has individual issues that need to be addressed. Our clients receive an exercise prescription based on their health history intake form and body analysis. These routines are supervised and modified at every session.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEBBIE KRUCK FITNESS AND PILATES STUDIO AND OTHER FITNESS AND PILATES STUDIOS?
Health Clubs, Fitness Studios and Pilates Studios charge you one fee for the facility and another larger fee for personal training.
OUR STUDIO: Besides being affordable to everyone, DK Fitness and Pilates Studio treat the individual as a whole person, not just “a number” which is one of the reasons we are proud to be celebrating seven years in business. In addition, it is the only studio owned and operated by a world class athlete with applied knowledge and education of human kinetics. Debbie recently graduated from Daytona State College with honors and includes Massage Therapy in her scope of practice alongside Pilates and Fitness training.
